Cerro Chato Expedition

CERRO CHATO EXPEDITION

For people wishing for a long hike along the tropical forest, and with good physical condition for going uphill for two hours and downhill for another two, this option will take you all the way up to the top of Cerro Chato.
This dormant sibling of Arenal Volcano has not presented activity for thousands of years, nonetheless climbing up to its top is quiet a trip, and from there you will have great views of the Arenal Volcano and most of the San Carlos Plains.

Beginning of the ascension will be made from the best side of the hill, where Observatory Lodge is located. There is a lake at the top which we will surround and then start descending from the east side until we get to the La Fortuna Waterfall. You can climb down to the lake from above.
You will be delivered to the place of the star and picked up at the Waterfall to take you back to the hotel, after having enjoyed some sandwiches and drinks.
