South Pacific Area

The South Pacific of Costa Rica consists mainly of the Peninsula de Osa, a region that is composed of impressive rainforest adjoining paradise-like beaches.

The South Pacific is considered one of the zones with the highest biodiversity on the planet, due to important protected areas like Corcovado National Park, the mangrove swamp of Terraba-Sierpe, Caño Island, Piedras Blancas National Park, Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve and Golfito Wildlife Refuge.
